WWE Hall of Famer Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts is one of the stars that made the professional wrestling business popular. He is set to open up about his dark past in the upcoming YouTube series ‘Hope’.
The Snake began his wrestling career in the year of 1974. He had been a full-time wrestler up until 2015. Throughout his in-ring career, he has captured many championships in the independent circuit. While he had not been able to capture any gold in the Stamford-based promotion, he constantly proved to be a wrestler that everyone feared to compete against. In 2014, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts is set to be the center of attraction in the upcoming YouTube series ‘Hope’ that’s set to premiere on September 23. The show will feature a special sit-down interview with the wrestling legend. He opens up about his suicidal thoughts and more. Here is a sneak peek from the interview.
“I think Jake [‘The Snake’ Roberts] is still a young boy. He’s just starting to grow. For years I’d shut down and I was ashamed of who I was. What confused me was, that everybody around me loved me to death, but they didn’t know me. I wrestled for 30 years, achieved more than I ever thought I could. We set records. You know, 91,000 people, it blew me away. But it didn’t make me happy. I wanted to die. I didn’t want to live anymore man. Because I didn’t have any hope, I didn’t have any dreams any more,” Jake Roberts said.
Roberts is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling where he is managing the ‘Murderhawk Monster’ Lance Archer.
