Britt Baker Has Taken ‘A Small Step Back’ From Dentistry To Focus On AEW

Britt Baker is now a part-timer — dentist, that is.

As AEW continues to grow its business, Britt Baker has decided to tweak her dentistry schedule.

Upon signing with AEW in 2019, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. made sure she could still fulfill her commitments outside of the ring. Since earning her dentistry certification at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, Baker has dedicated herself as a full-time dentist in the state of Florida.

Tuesday night, however, Baker revealed that she had recently scaled back her dentistry work.

“I’ve taken a step small back from dentistry for months now to focus on AEW. I’m still a dentist, but not full time. I wanted to make sure I’m available whenever/wherever AEW calls,” Baker tweeted. “Also, a long day of dentistry can be just as rough on back/neck injuries as pro wrestling.”

AEW has begun expanding its reach and its weekly product, which inherently elevates the schedules of many performers. In February, the company announced the introduction of “AEW House Rules,” which provides fans with an opportunity to see their favorite AEW stars perform in a non-televised setting.

Later in May, AEW revealed that they were expanding their televised programming to include a third show called AEW Collision. With these developments now officially in effect, and the occasional autograph signings and convention appearances, many stars have taken on a more demanding schedule. Despite the changes, Britt Baker seems keen on continuing her work outside of wrestling, just at a lower frequency.

Inside the ring, Baker recently defeated Taya Valkyrie on the July 26 episode of AEW Dynamite. Though their match didn’t pan out quite as expected, Baker hopes to face Valkyrie again sometime.
