WWE highlights the success of the July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown.
WWE announced that Friday’s episode of SmackDown set the all-time record for the highest-grossing WWE event at Madison Square Garden. The venue is often considered WWE’s home, as it hosted the first WrestleMania back in 1985. Overall, Madison Square Garden has hosted WrestleMania three times over the years, as well as a number of other WWE shows.
Additionally, per WWE, the July 7 episode was the highest-grossing domestic taping of WWE SmackDown of all time. WWE set this record just one week after the June 30 episode was announced as the highest-grossing international edition of SmackDown; that show emanated from The O2 Arena in London, England.
