Eric Bischoff isn’t a young man anymore, and he’s self-aware of that fact today.
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff was a recent guest on The Ariel Helwani Show to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked if he’d ever go back to WWE, Bischoff said not at this point in his life, but if he were 20 years younger, he’d do it in a heartbeat.
“No. If I was twenty years younger, in a heartbeat,” Eric Bischoff admitted. “If I get a phone call from my buddy Bruce [Prichard] and he says, ‘Hey, thinking about, kind of got an idea. Interested in coming back? But I need one of your fingers.’ As long it’s on my left hand and not my right, I’d probably go for it. I loved my time there. I loved working with so many people.
“I can’t say enough about the quality of people that work in WWE. It was a blessing to have the opportunity to work there. I’m 68 years old, and I live in a beautiful part of Wyoming. I live right outside of Yellowstone National Park, and it’s been my dream to live there since I was a little kid, and I worked my ass off throughout my life to have what I have there. And at this point in time, I don’t want to be away more than necessary. The idea of flying back and forth and doing TV. Nah, not anymore.”
Eric Bischoff would go on to explain as much as he loves and misses the creative process, he just doesn’t have the willingness to work that type of schedule anymore, and that’s why things didn’t work out at WWE the last time.
“I think that combination of aside professional wrestling experience producing, creating and producing and selling with the background that I’ve had in professional wrestling, probably would make me really, really dangerous,” Eric Bischoff said. “And in a good way, as far as being involved in creative, I just don’t have the passion for it anymore.
“Just to commit 12, 14, 16 hours a day of my life to it; that’s why it didn’t work out in WWE. I’m not answering my phone at two o’clock in the morning, guys. I’m just not doing it. And if I do, you’re not going to want to talk to me anyway because it takes me five minutes to wake up.”
