Chelsea Green took matters into her own hands when it came to getting her job back with WWE.
RAW Superstar Chelsea Green was a recent guest on Out of Character with Ryan Satin to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about her surprise return at the 2023 Royal Rumble, Green revealed that she had been signed for months and was just anxiously awaiting her debut.
“I mean, I loved it,” Chelsea Green said. “I was waiting to find out when my surprise return would be for months. So for me, the Royal Rumble was like, it was perfect. And just the way that the entire day came together, and those five seconds will live on forever. I really think that is the perfect way to come back.”
When asked why it took so long for WWE to debut her after being signed to a new deal, they speculated it could have come down to figuring out the right character for her ahead of time. Green admitted she enjoyed the time off at first but became very anxious about things three months in.
“I think so. And it’s just a matter of like when’s the perfect opportunity to put her in, and I think it’s just like, let’s figure out a way to surprise people, and maybe they know that it’s going to be the Royal Rumble. But how? They’re never going to know. So I just thought it was it was perfect.
“The first month was great because the first month I was able to — I was so busy before signing to WWE that I was still in this place of trying to get the laundry done, trying to get the dishes done, trying to get my house figured out and just like keep up with life. So the first month, I was like, this is great. I’m getting paid. I know they’re gonna bring me back. And I’m able to just like, think about what I want to do when I do go back while also just like getting my life together.
“And then the second month rolls around. I’m like, Okay, well, this surely this is the month, right? I’m gonna make my comeback. Now I kind of know what I’m gonna be, or who I want to be, the gear I want to wear. And then by month three, I’m like, okay, what the hell is going on? I need to debut. Then I started getting antsy.”
When asked if Triple H reached out to her to bring her back to WWE, Green revealed she was the one that texted Hunter to ask for her job back.
“No, I texted him,” Chelsea Green said. “And I said, ‘I want my job back.’ And he said, ‘Okay, call me.’ I was shocked. I want to go back to WWE. My story is not finished, and it wasn’t finished. And on that phone call, he said I absolutely would love to have you back, and you just tell me when is a good time for you to start.”
