Damian Priest is ready for The Judgment Day to move on from previous feuds and focus on championship gold instead.
RAW Superstar Damian Priest was a recent guest on WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about what The Judgment Day’s plans are with Backlash in the rearview mirror, Priest said the faction wants to move on from past rivalries and focus on winning championships.
“Oh, you know what, we’ve talked about it for a while, and we’ve talked about championships, and we haven’t really attacked that side of the business yet where we’re specifically focusing on championships, and I think I think we’re there now,” Damian Priest said. You know, we’re putting everybody behind us, Edge, Rey, LWO, everybody got drafted to SmackDown…Yeah, that chapter can close; now, we could redirect our focus. And that was the only reason why we hadn’t.
“We knew we wanted to build up enough momentum that we weren’t just handed anything; we wanted to earn our place and handle our ongoing business. And I think we’re there now. And now we can change our focus. We got a brand new beautiful championship coming to Monday Night RAW. We got the Tag Team Champions on RAW we got an Intercontinental Champion on RAW. Rhea’s got hers; I think the boys need theirs.
We all want to be the champ, and we all understand that we all want it, and we all agree that we all should want it, and whoever gets it gets it, and then we will support them and have their back because that’s what we do. But we need to all want to be the best.”
Priest said Judgment Day sees each other as peers and they are just trying to be their best. He noted that if they keep pushing each other to new heights, there’s no way they can fail.
