Before his surprising return at WWE Backlash, Carlito stated that he is open for business.
WWE held the Backlash premium live event in Puerto Rico on May 6, and the former WWE Intercontinental Champion made his surprising return to the company by helping Bad Bunny during his San Juan Street Fight against Damian Priest. The event marked Carlito’s first time on a WWE show since he competed on the February 1, 2021 episode of WWE RAW. His full-time WWE run ended when he was released in 2010.
Speaking at the For The Love of Wrestling convention (via Alistair McGeorge of Metro) prior to WWE Backlash, the former WWE star noted that he was open to any good offer, but no one calls him.
“Yeah, I’m open to whatever, any good offer from anywhere, it doesn’t matter,” Carlito said. “Thing is, nobody calls me so I don’t sit by the phone either. If something comes up, great, if not I keep doing what I’m doing.”
Outside of WWE, Carlito continues to compete for various promotions, including CCW and WWC. The veteran stated that striving to keep up with younger talent drives him, and he’ll hang up the boots when he realizes he can’t.
“What’s driving me at this point? Just trying to keep up with the younger guys, see if I still can hang. That’s all,” Carlito said. “Until I realize I can’t, and then it’s time to hang up the boots.”
A recent report offered more information about Carlito’s return at WWE Backlash.
