Tomohiro Ishii will challenge for the gold at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku.
As previously announced, Kazuchika Okada will challenge for the NEVER Openweight Tag Team Championship with two mystery partners at the May 3 event. In a post on their official website, New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that Ishii has joined forces with Okada, so the duo, along with another individual, will challenge Minoru Suzuki, Ren Narita, and El Desperado for the gold.
The updated card for NJPW Wrestling Dontaku is as follows:
