Rey Fenix is reportedly taking some time away in order to heal from injuries.
Fenix last wrestled at AEW Battle of the Belts VI, where he and Penta El Zero Miedo defeated Powerhouse Hobbs and QT Marshall to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championships.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Fenix is “banged up”, so he’ll be taking some time off. As of this writing, it’s unclear what Fenix is suffering from, and there’s no word on the timeframe for his return.
Fenix and Penta, collectively known as the Lucha Brothers, won the titles at ROH Supercard of Honor on March 31. The ROH World Tag Team Championship had been vacated following the passing of Jay Briscoe, one-half of the reigning champions alongside Mark Briscoe, in January.
