Big E knows a thing or two about hosting an important WWE event.
WWE Superstar Big E was a recent guest on the Battleground Podcast to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked for Bad Bunny, who was scheduled at the time to host WWE Backlash next month, Big E said Bad Bunny didn’t need his advice, but if he were to give it to him, it would be just to enjoy the moment.
“Bad Bunny does not need my advice,” Big E said. “That man is the top streaming artist in the entire world. In his home in Puerto Rico, he doesn’t need, just have fun. Enjoy it. It was interesting. When we hosted, a lot of people asked if we were bummed that we didn’t have a match. And that’s one way to look at it. While we’ve had more talent be hosts, but at the time we did it, it was pretty rare.
“Only a couple of other talents had ever hosted, active talent; I’m not sure if any other active talent had. So it was something that we really enjoyed and embraced. And to be able to have for us, I think the one thing I really remember is the Hardyz return because we got to be a small part of that. That moment was so incredible, and something I get goosebumps just thinking about that. So for Bad Bunny, just enjoy it. Enjoy the moment.
“I’m excited, man. I think of a guy like Damian Priest, who’s Puerto Rican as well, getting opportunities to go out there and interact with Bad Bunny. So, man, as far as the card is concerned, I’m just excited to see Bad Bunny, see Zelina [Vega], LWO, see the kind of love they’re going to get in Puerto Rico is really, really going to be special because Puerto Rico also for people who don’t know has such a storied history when it comes to pro wrestling.
“So they’re going to take what we do so energetically, and man, Bad Bunny, tip of the cap to him. Because he’s come in, he’s worked incredibly hard. His passion for this. I saw he did an interview; I think it was for Carpool Karaoke, where he said that the WrestleMania match I think he described as the best day of his life. And oftentimes you have, and I’m not knocking any celebrity who takes a paycheck, comes in, and does what they’re asked. That’s fine.
“But you can tell with him. It’s so much more than that. Like he’s a guy who truly loves this. Like, I think pro wrestling was his first love. He grew up watching WWE. So for me that it’s so dope and amazing to see someone like him, who is a massive, massive star and comes in so humbly and so energetically to do what we do.”
