Mercedes Moné says she was channeling greatness.
During a recent press conference, Mercedes Moné pulled out a guitar and sang a song (set to the tune of the Spider-Man theme) she called “Mayu Sucks”.
The performance was met with a polarizing reaction, with some fans criticizing it for being cheesy. One Twitter account said that “this promo explains why Sasha Banks is the female Dean Ambrose.”
The remark was clearly meant as a dig at Mercedes Moné (and the comedic angles at the end of Dean Ambrose’s WWE run). Moné, however, flipped the script and said it just proved she was a female version of The Rock, who also showed off his singing skills in WWE.
Shortly after performing her song, Moné attacked Mayu Iwatani, putting her through a table after hitting a Moné Maker.
Mercedes Moné is set to defend her IWGP Women’s Championship against Mayu Iwatani at STARDOM’s All Star Grand Queendom event on April 23.
