Rey Mysterio suggests that he could potentially face Dominik Mysterio in a Mask vs. Hair Match.
The WWE Hall of Famer has been feuding with his son, Dominik Mysterio, for months, and they clashed in a buzzworthy bout at WWE WrestleMania 39. The interference of Bad Bunny helped Rey score the win, but the Hall of Famer remains locked in a rivalry with the Judgment Day.
Speaking with Logan Paul on IMPAULSIVE, Rey discussed his feud with his son and noted that he hoped it was just a phase.
“It came from a bit of jealousy from my son, but he knows, man, I’ve given him everything, the lifestyle that I wish I would have had as a kid”.” Rey said. “But at the end of the day, when you said it was just a phase that we went through, I’m hoping this is just a phase.”
Paul joked that Dominik is in his “emo” phase, and Rey went on to describe how his son was always a mama’s boy, and he could understand Dominik being disrespectful with him, but the way he treated his mom and his sister crossed the line.
“He was, from a very young age, a mama’s boy, always,” Rey said. “He didn’t like to hang out with me. He always stuck around mom. So I get it if he wants to be like that with me. But when I see him act like that with his sister, well, you know, brother and sister always bump heads constantly.”
When asked about the potential end of the feud, Rey suggested that he could potentially face his son in a Hair vs. Mask match, which is a staple of lucha libre wrestling.
“Maybe I put my mask on the line against his hair, which is in lucha culture, and if I lose, I take my mask off, and if he loses, he shaves his hair off,” Rey said. “That might be interesting.”
Rey also noted that while the match isn’t official yet, he would pitch it and challenge Dominik, as he said, “I will pitch it out. I’ll challenge him, straight up.”
