Real1, formerly known as Enzo Amore, comments on his MLW release.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Major League Wrestling has released Real1. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select subsequently reported that the company has cut ties with the former WWE star, as he has refused “much of the upcoming creative”, and he wasn’t interested in working with some of the company’s top talent. Per Sapp, Amore had been working on a per-appearance deal for the past year.
In a tweet following the reports of his release, Real1 stated that he never signed a deal; instead, he had a handshake. He also teased taking the company to court.
In a follow-up tweet. Real1 wrote, “Actually, lol. Thanks for everything. I had fun.”
Real1 posted another tweet in which he thanked MLW’s fans and apologized for the fact that he was advertised to challenge Alex Hammerstone for the MLW World Championship at MLW Battle Riot V on April 8. He stated that he was never aware of this date, and he did not agree to it. Real1 again stated that he enjoyed his experience, and he was grateful for the opportunity.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
