One of the biggest legends in wrestling history is currently a free agent, with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reporting that Goldberg‘s contract with WWE expired last year.
Sapp reports that Goldberg’s contract expired at the end of 2022, and that no deal between him and WWE have been made to renew or extend it, leaving the legend as a free agent since then. The 56-year-old hasn’t appeared in many matches in the past, with his last in-ring action coming during 2022’s Elimination Chamber, in a WWE Universal Championship loss against Roman Reigns.
According to the Fightful Select report, Goldberg’s deal still had 10 months left when he lost to Reigns at Elimination Chamber, but the superstar didn’t participate in any matches. It’s unclear just what the future holds for the superstar, although rumors did persist in 2019 that All Elite Wrestling had been interested in him.
Since 2018, more than half of Goldberg’s matches have taken place in Saudi Arabia, with all of them either taking place in Saudi Arabia specific shows like Crown Jewel, or at one of the major WWE premium live events like Elimination Chamber or WrestleMania.
