WWE is reportedly trying to get “Stone Cold” Steve Austin involved with WrestleMania 39.
The WWE Hall of Famer came out of retirement and faced Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. Before that, he had last wrestled in 2003.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that multiple pitches have been made to “Stone Cold”, and sources are of the mindset that he has been open-minded regarding the possibility of wrestling for the right situation and the right money. Up to this point, the offers seemingly haven’t lined up with what he’s looking for.
As previously reported, Austin was pitched a match with Brock Lesnar, but the money didn’t work out. The company made another pitch for a match with Roman Reigns, but sources indicated that Austin didn’t give WWE an answer about it.
Sapp also wrote that Austin has been made “additional pitches” for other matches, with LA Knight being one name that has been pitched. As of this writing, a match between the two has not been confirmed.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
