John Cena made his first WWE appearance of 2023 this week on Monday Night RAW.
The 16-time World Champion appeared in his hometown of Boston and went face to face with WWE United States Champion Austin Theory. After a back-and-forth, a match between Cena and Theory was made for WrestleMania 39.
Cena took to social media this morning to reflect on his appearance last night and commented on getting emotional during his entrance last night. Admitting he had thought that it might be the last time he entered that arena in Boston, tweeting out:
“Last night was the first time I entered the arena and had the thought that it might be the last time,” Cena wrote on Twitter. “I’ll never be able to put into words how much I love the #WWEUniverse.”
John Cena is scheduled to challenge Austin Theory for the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 39 next month.
