Gail Kim has been a solid anchor in not only representing, but also in producing the IMPACT Knockouts division.
In recent years, the company collaborated with other promotions including AEW, AAA, and the NWA to bring about “forbidden door” matches, and even whole events — as seen in August 2021 at EmPowerrr. With Kim’s focus on the Knockouts division, she’s drafted up plans to possibly link up with another huge promotion.
“I have kind of pitched — I wanted a STARDOM-Knockouts pay-per-view, ” she told SEScoops’ Scott Fishman. STARDOM, of course, remains the sister company to NJPW, and one of the world’s brightest all-women’s promotions. “That was my thing I sort of threw in the bucket. So, it’s something I have to push a little bit harder for obviously, because we do get busy, and we’re always constantly planning the next show and the next show. But I know the fans want to see another all-women’s pay-per-view,” Kim said.
IMPACT’s last all-women’s pay-per-view came in October 2021, with Knockouts Knockdown, which Kim described as “great”. Prior to that, IMPACT Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo represented the company at EmPowerrr. “EmPowerrr was great that Mickie ran, and now Mickie is part of our company,” Gail Kim pointed out. “So, I would love to see collaborations again with some other companies and STARDOM was at the top of my list. I think that would create great interest and maybe some collaboration with other companies and women.”
“There’s so many women out there right now, and I think it’s a great chance to give them a platform to show what they got,” she said.
