NJPW President Takami Ohbari: NJPW STRONG Will Rebuild And Focus On ‘Quality Over Quantity’

NJPW President Takami Ohbari comments on the future of NJPW STRONG.

On January 7, NJPW star Hiroshi Tanahashi noted that STRONG was coming to an end with the January 7 episode, leaving many fans to question the future of the brand.

The next day, Ohbari offered an update; he tweeted that STRONG “will be rebuilt to adapt”, and the focus will be on “quality rather than quantity” moving forward. In his tweet, he noted that STRONG was launched during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when travel restrictions hindered the company and the wrestling world as a whole. He stated that, given the changing external and internal environment, NJPW will adjust its approach.

Previously, NJPW held tapings throughout the United States and aired the shows over the course of a few weeks in STRONG’s weekly slot on NJPW World.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
