Drew Gulak has his sights set on WrestleMania 40.
Speaking on the December 21 episode of WWE’s The Bump, Drew Gulak was asked about WrestleMania 40 being in Philadelphia, his hometown. Gulak is a diehard Philadelphia sports fan and said he is very focused on being part of the show.
“Yeah, the Liberty Bell [being] front and center right there [on the logo], it’s very surreal to see this. You know, WrestleMania 15 was in Philly. That’s a show that holds a very special place in my heart. I usually don’t have goals with my wrestling career. That is a very gigantic one that has been placed in front of me by the powers that be. I have never been more focused than I have in my entire life on my in-ring career than I am now, with that kind of lighting a fire under my behind.
The Bump co-host Matt Camp pitched an eight-man tag involving Gulak and Philly sports mascots Gritty (Flyers), Phanatic (Phillies), Swoop (Eagles) against the Judgment Day. Gulak said
“It would make my day. Just having the Phanatic, guys, [he] is on another level of royalty. If you’re not from Philadelphia, you may not understand,” Gulak noted. “But the Philly Phanatic, it’s like the President and then the Philly Phanatic. That’s how it is. Sometimes, not even that. He’s above the President.”
