If you’ve been wondering where Paige VanZant is, there appears to be a minor update.
VanZant became famous for her fighting career in UFC where she currently holds a winning 8-5 record. She later signed a deal to compete in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship before making her first AEW appearance in September 2021. After signing a contract to become #AllElite this past March, VanZant successfully made her in-ring debut at Double or Nothing in May. She teamed with Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky to defeat Tay Melo, Sammy Guevara, and Frankie Kazarian. Since that feud, though, the MMA star has been MIA.
It appears that Paige VanZant was training to make her return to bare-knuckle fighting against Charisa Sigala at BKFC 27 in August, however the fight was postponed and later cancelled. Recently, BKFC President Dave Feldman spoke to MMAFighting.com about how he’s not sure if VanZant will return although they are in talks for a fight in early 2023.
“We were talking about putting her on KnuckleMania [in February], and we’re going to be talking to her manager again next week. We’ll see what happens with that. I’d love to have her back if she wants to come back and fight and test herself one more time,” Feldman said. “She’s doing other things and she’s doing very, very well at those and making a lot of money. So I don’t know. If she wants to come back, she’s welcome to, but we don’t know for sure if she’s coming back. She does have a place here. We’ll see shortly.”
Regarding her other avenues for income, the 28-year-old is reportedly making enough from her private website and her OnlyFans page that she could “retire immediately and never work another day in her life.” The subject of making substantial money from personalized content has been a hot topic as of late after WWE released Mandy Rose for posting explicit content on her FanTime page. TMZ reports that Rose has made over $500,000 in the week since her departure from wrestling.
It remains to be seen when VanZant will return to AEW.
