Bron Breakker and Apollo Crews put on a test of strength and a huge match to close out tonight’s NXT Deadline, but in the end, the reigning NXT Champion continued his reign with an impressive win.
In a stellar match to close out Deadline, Breakker and Crews went toe-to-toe with one another, with Crews even looking like he would come out on top in a handful of moments. However, it was Breakker who would do enough to survive, escaping a late slam and hitting Crews with a Spear for the win. After the match, however, Breakker was met by Grayson Waller, who ambushed the champion and posed with the belt, which he became the #1 Contender for earlier tonight.

Breakker asks for a test of strength. Crews flips Breakker over. Both men get to their feet. Breakker flips Crews over. Neither man can get an advantage. After another series over counters, both men kip up to their feet. Both men are evenly matched. Crews and Breakker get tied up in the ropes after multiple hip toss attempts. Crews mushes Breakker. Breakker gets sent out of the ring. Crews lands a moonsault off the apron.
Senton by Crews. Breakker kicks out. Suplex by Breakker. Standing moonsault by Breakker. Crews rolls out of the ring. Breakker leaps over the ropes and lands on Crews. Crews unloads on Breakker. DVD by Crews. Breakker kicks out. Crews counter Breakker and hits three powerbombs in a row. Breakker kicks out. Crews has a crazed look in his eyes as he goes up top and hits a frog splash. Breakker kicks out yet again.
Breakker fire up and hits a few shoulder blocks. Steiner Bulldog by Breakker. Crews kicks out. Breakker escapes a slam by Crews and hits a spinebuster. Breakker pulls down his straps and calls for his finish. Crews counters and hits Breakker’s own finish on him. Breakker kicks out. Crews starts to stir. Breakker and Crews jaw at each other and start trading shots. Breakker escapes another slam from Crews and hits a Spear for the win.
