Miro hasn’t wrestled since September, but his lack of ring time reportedly hasn’t been the result of an injury.
“The Redeemer” has only competed in four matches in 2022, and he last wrestled at AEW All Out on September 4, where he teamed up with Darby Allin and Sting to defeat the House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews). He has been absent ever since, and the reasoning has been unclear.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that, per AEW sources, Miro has been completely healthy, and he wants to compete, but creative “hasn’t been presented” for him. Sapp cited sources who indicated that there were plans to have creative conversations with the former TNT Champion, but they haven’t happened yet. Sources also said that Miro is eager to return to action. However, it’s unclear how long this absence will last, given the circumstances.
Update: Dave Meltzer reported more information in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He stated that ideas were pitched to Miro in September, and the storyline would have lasted through the Full Gear pay-per-view. However, Miro wasn’t on board with the pitch, so AEW opted to wait until he agreed to creative rather than putting him on television without a set plan. Per Meltzer, the two sides have been talking, and “The Redeemer” is expected to return soon.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
