Kurt Angle reflects on a match that could have been between himself and “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson.

Kurt Angle is seen as one of the best technical wrestlers in the history of professional wrestling but in the eyes of many fans, he and Bryan Danielson are 1A and 1B. Unfortunately, the stars never aligned in a way that would allow for these two men to meet in a one-on-one match, but Kurt Angle Bryan Danielson is one of his dream opponents. Kurt says that Bryan Danielson is his number two dream opponent right behind Bret “Hitman” Hart.

“Oh, yeah. Daniel Bryan, he’s one of my top three wrestlers that I wish I would have been able to face before I retired. You know, Bret Hart is one of them. Daniel Bryan’s the other. And the other one, I’m leaving it open because there are so many other great talents. He’s actually my top two. He’s actually the second person behind Bret Hart that I always wanted to wrestle, but never could,” Angle said on the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show podcast.

Kurt Angle retired from competition after WrestleMania 35 in 2019 following a loss to Baron Corbin. Bryan Danielson is currently wrestling in AEW. Recently, he stated that his time as a full-time wrestler is coming to an end.
