Scorpio Sky hasn’t appeared on AEW programming in months, and a new report shines some light on the situation.
Sky last wrestled on the July 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he lost the TNT Championship to Wardlow in a Street Fight. Ahead of his departure, Sky had been working through a leg injury, which is why he has been sidelined.
In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Sky has been medically cleared for “quite some time”, so he can return to the ring. But as of this writing, there aren’t any creative plans for him. Sapp noted that Sky filmed content at a Dynamite taping over the summer, but the footage never aired.
Prior to his absence, Sky had been featured on AEW TV throughout 2022; he feuded with Sammy Guevara over the TNT Championship and faced him in a tag team match that also marked Paige VanZant’s AEW in-ring debut at AEW Double or Nothing 2022.
