Cain Velasquez is officially returning to the wrestling world.
Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide confirmed that the former UFC World Heavyweight Champion will be at its December 3 event in Tempe, Arizona. In the announcement, AAA did not specify any details regarding Velasquez’s match at the show, which will be Velasquez’s first bout since AAA TripleMania Regia II.
On March 2, Velasquez was charged with attempted murder after he shot at a car containing Harry Goularte, who had been accused of sexual misconduct with Velasquez’s four-year-old son, and struck Goularte’s stepfather, Paul Bender. The former WWE star was granted bail on November 8, and one of the terms of his release mandated that he be monitored by GPS. Velasquez then requested permission from the court to wrestle at the AAA event, and he was granted clearance, with some conditions, on November 22.

Velasquez commented on the news in a tweet and stated that he’s happy about his return to AAA.
Previously, Velasquez also wrestled at AAA Invading NY and AAA TripleMania XXVII in 2019. He then signed with WWE and faced Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel 2019, and he also competed at a live event before his 2020 release.
