The Acclaimed plan to be the forever champs.
During their AEW Full Gear post-show media scrum, The Acclaimed was asked what their next step was after beating Swerve In Our Glory. Anthony Bowens said he only has one goal, and one goal only.
Bowens: “It’s keeping these AEW Tag Team Championship titles forever. We are the forever champs. We’re gonna go out there every single week. We’re gonna keep kicking ass and we’re gonna keep scissoring the hell out of everybody that we see. We wanna make sure that we become the best tag team ever. We’re the best tag team alive, but we want to be the best tag team ever, in the history of AEW and the history of professional wrestling.”
Caster went on to mention to Pat Buck, their trainer and current AEW producer for helping The Acclaimed achieve their goals.
Caster: “It’s great, especially watching [MJF] win the world title tonight was special. We’re very close. Some of you may know, Pat Buck, the guy who trained me and Anthony and Max, to watch that with that much of a connection, especially locally, Create A Pro in New Jersey and in New York, that’s where we trained. That’s what made us the best wrestlers alive. So it was beautiful to have that here. Beautiful to have it every week now because we are the best wrestling school, and the best talent is here in the northeast. I think we proved that tonight. Semi-main event and main event.”
Bowens echoed Caster’s sentiments and thanked the fans for getting behind them as well.
Bowens: “I’m gonna take one more second to thank every single fan that has supported us and helped elevate us to get to this point. I wanna thank Pat Buck, like Max said earlier, for training us from the very, very beginning, and preparing us with the tools that we needed to be prepared for all these opportunities. I wanna thank Tony Khan because there weren’t many people that believed in us when we first got here. This man believes in us from the very, very start, since we stepped foot in this company. I hope that we made you proud.”
