CM Punk cracked a joke at his own expense.
Punk has been absent from AEW since he reportedly got into a fight with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks after AEW All Out. His status with the company remains unclear, though a previous report stated that the two sides are exploring a buyout. Since “Brawl Out”, other reports have suggested that some AEW stars don’t want to work with Punk.
The former AEW World Champion was on the commentary team for Cage Fury Fighting Championships on November 18, the broadcast team joked about needing a big signing for doing “Fury Pro Wrestling” next year, and Punk quipped that they wouldn’t want him in the locker room.
“I’m bad news, you don’t want me in the locker room [laughs],” Punk said.
Punk’s broadcast colleague John Morgan chimed in by saying, “That dude will mess up the whole organization. What are you doing? I like working here man. [laughs] Don’t let him do any press conferences.”
In response, Punk laughed and hid his smiling face with his hand.
