Add Brian Hebner to the list of people who believe that CM Punk won’t return to the world of professional wrestling.
Former WWE and IMPACT Wrestling referee Brian Hebner recently sat down with Lewis Carlan of PWMania to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked if he believes we’ll ever see CM Punk in a wrestling ring again, Hebner thinks we won’t because no one wants him in their locker room anymore after what took place following AEW All Out.
“I don’t see any reason for him to get back into a wrestling ring. I think he has burned his bridge at both major companies. I don’t think nobody wants a sh-t disturber in their locker room and a guy who goes into business for himself,” Brian Hebner said. “And I’m not saying that’s the kind of guy he is but that’s the kind of guy he’s shown he is. So I don’t know. I’m sure that guy’s got money. So I don’t think there’s any need for him really to get into a ring. So to answer your question with one word as opposed to a long word of sentences, would be no.”
When asked if he thinks IMPACT Wrestling should make an offer to bring Punk in for a match or two, Hebner admitted if they could afford him, it would be something worth looking into.
“For the right money, yeah, absolutely. Is that something that Impact can afford? I don’t know. But is it something that they would do? Absolutely they would do it, yeah, sure,” Brian Hebner admitted. “So if you’re saying if all that was to be number-wise, okay. For CM Punk, per se, to do a one-off two-off whatever it may be? Yeah, sure. Then I could see him getting back in the ring. But otherwise, no, I don’t.”
