Jay White says the Good Brothers (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson) need to be recognized for the impact they’ve had on the wrestling business.
Anderson and Gallows have competed around the world. They rose to stardom in NJPW and competed for ROH, among other companies, before they signed with WWE in 2016. The duo won the RAW Tag Team Championship twice before they were released in 2020. Gallows and Anderson wrapped up a remarkable run in IMPACT earlier this year; they won the company’s tag team titles three times. The Good Brothers also started competing for NJPW again before they returned to WWE on the October 10 episode of WWE RAW.
Speaking with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, White spoke highly of the duo and stated that while people often overlook them, they need to be acknowledged for the way they’re blazing trails and making history. He pointed out that Anderson is both the reigning NEVER Openweight Champion and a member of the WWE roster.
“They need to be acknowledged for the impact they’ve had on the industry,” White said. “I think people overlook that or don’t want to admit that or to give them their flowers for that. The companies that they’ve been in and what they’re doing now with Karl still being the NEVER Openweight champion yet being in WWE. I think that’s pretty unheard of. They’re always blazing trails and making history. They need to be acknowledged for that.”
White also discussed his status as the leader of Bullet Club. The group was founded by Prince Devitt, now known as Finn Balor, who helped give White a big break into the business in the early years of his career. “Switchblade” noted that he doesn’t think about this dynamic too much, but he appreciates the connection. He stated that leading the group is vindicating for him, as he always knew where he wanted to take it.
“That’s a cool thing,” White said. “It’s not something I really kind of think about too much. When you step back and look at it like that, that is a really cool story. It’s vindication for me that I was right about where I was gonna go with it all basically.”
