The Rock Says Kindness Is His Superpower, Tequila Is His Kryptonite

The Rock continues to live his life based on a quote about kindness he heard when he was just 15 years old.

Former WWE Superstar The Rock recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When told that being kind is his superpower, The Rock told a story about why he’s as kind as he is.

“Look, man, I always say being kind is being nice,” The Rock said. “And I heard a quote when I was 15, and I’ll never forget it. And I use it as my lead foot, by the way, like in life, which is it’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. And I still feel that being nice and being kind is truly one of the easiest things to do. Because to me, it takes effort to be an asshole.”

When asked what his weakness (his personal kryptonite, if you will…) would be, The Rock admitted it would be tequila. The Great One was later asked how he defines success, and he said the key is to positively influence people and make sure they always walk away from something he’s done feeling good.

“That’s a great question, and you’re making me think about this. I’m going to take a crack at it right now. I would say I define success by having a positive influence on people,” The Rock said. “And in the world of entertainment. That is a small sector, but yet it can be very influential, and my goal in terms of the things that I do on this side of entertainment and some of the other businesses that I’ve started is the key. The number one anchoring element is to always make sure that people walk away feeling good.

“And that’s important. Walk out of the theaters feeling good watching a movie. If they’re watching it at home, they feel good when the credits are rolling. If there’s a product that I’ve created, and I deliver it, they feel good with that too as well. So I define success by how it makes people feel. And I also would define success by raising some good babies if you’re fortunate enough to have some kids. I would define success that way too as well.”
