Following IMPACT Bound For Glory on October 7, the company held a set of tapings at the Albany Armory in Albany, New York, the following day. There, the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship changed hands. Mike Bennett and Matt Taven defended the gold against Heath and Rhino, and the challengers won the titles. In doing so, they kicked off their first reign and ended The OGK’s run; Taven and Bennett won the gold on the September 1 episode of IMPACT Wrestling.
Maria Kanellis previously stated that Bennett and Taven’s contracts, as well as her own, were set to on October 8. As of this writing, it’s unclear whether they’ll stay with IMPACT.
Plus, the day after Frankie Kazarian won the X-Division Championship at Bound For Glory, he utilized Option C to get a shot at IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander. He will challenge for the title at the Over Drive event on November 18. By exercising Option C, Kazarian vacated the X-Division Championship.
An eight-man tournament will crown the new champion, with the finals being held at Over Drive.
