For almost all of 2022, Brandi Rhodes has been a free agent in the world of professional wrestling.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), Brandi was contacted by Warner Bros. Discovery last month. Sapp stated that the two sides aren’t in regular contact but remain cordial with one another. The context of the call is unknown at this time. (In order to avoid any rumors starting, it was also noted by Fightful that Warner Bros. Discovery sources indicated they’ve been very happy with AEW, specifically in recent months.)
Beyond her work with All Elite Wrestling, Brandi took part in a reality show on TNT called Rhodes to the Top which followed her and Cody Rhodes’ life in and out of professional wrestling.
While “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38, Brandi didn’t sign with him. Brandi Rhodes has participated in some matches at the WWE Performance Center this summer, she’s technically still a free agent at this time.
In a recent interview with Muscle & Fitness, Brandi said she still trains because she intends to resume her career as an active competitor.
“I’m still training all of the time,” said Rhodes. “People can connect the dots and make of that what they will. I will tell you; I wouldn’t be training and getting beat up (laughs) just for the hell of it, so obviously I do plan to continue my in-ring career. When and where? That is yet to be seen but I hope when it does happen, everybody is happy and proud.”
