A third competitor has qualified for the NXT North American Championship match at NXT Halloween Havoc.
On the September 27 episode of WWE NXT, Wes Lee battled Tony D’Angelo in a qualifying match. Early on, D’Angelo was distracted by his cornerman, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, who tried to get involved and wound up getting ejected from ringside instead. In the end, D’Angelo and Lee threw everything they had at each other. Lee was seemingly on the verge of winning the match when he sent “The Don of NXT” face-first into the turnbuckle.
The impact seemingly wounded “Tony D”, as the referee called for the bell. Officials then checked on D’Angelo, who had seemingly hurt his head or face.

With the win, Lee joins Oro Mensah and Carmelo Hayes in the Ladder Match for the NXT North American Championship at NXT Halloween Havoc. Shawn Michaels previously announced the match after he stripped Solo Sikoa of the title. Hayes was given a spot in the bout due to the controversial way he lost the championship, and Mensah defeated Waller to qualify.
