Teddy Long chalks it all up to an error by a hacker.
Over the weekend, Teddy Long was trending due to his personal Twitter account blocking everyone without reason. Wrestling Inc’s Nick Hausman spoke with Long and first alerted him to the issue, later confirming Long had been hacked.
Long briefly explained what happened on a social media video, then appeared on Monday’s episode of Busted Open Radio to share what took place. Co-host Dreamer made a crack about trending on Twitter “at his age”, so Long called it out before getting into his social media history and issues with hackers.
“Well, let me explain something to you, I heard you just made a comment about my age — I don’t worry about age and I don’t worry about numbers. If you continue to live, the numbers are going to come. If you live the next year, you’ll be another year older, so whatever age I am, that doesn’t bother me because that don’t mean I have to look like that and that don’t mean I have to feel like that. So I’m not worried about my age. I feel like a lot of people in the wrestling business are worried about it and that’s why I don’t have a job, because I’m too old. But there’s a lot of people still working in this business that are just as old as I am, so let’s get down to the blocking part…
“Now, I don’t know what happened, but I thought this over because I did have a problem one time on Instagram. It was somebody that kept bothering me, so I blocked them. So the next thing I know, they must have got back on Instagram using the n-word, cussing, all kind of foul language, so Instagram shut my whole account down, because of some idiot. So I never got back on Instagram, I said I’ll leave it alone and not worry about it.
“So I guess this is someone that I probably blocked on Twitter because let me explain something to you — I’m a grown man. I don’t have time for no games. I don’t play games, and there’s a lot of people that come up on my site that just [are] saying stuff that just doesn’t make any sense. So those people I don’t bother with, and basically my Facebook and my Twitter are like a business account, I use that to let people know about my [public appearances and signings]. So I don’t really care about a lot of Facebook friends and I’m strictly business. So I wanted to let everybody know that I didn’t block anybody. Some idiot did that. I blocked [him], he got mad and hacked my Twitter and started blocking people. So if you got blocked, I didn’t block you. And what they did was they screenshotted my Twitter with the blue sticker because it’s verified, and that’s what made people think it was really me. So like I said with the blocking, I didn’t block anybody. It was someone else.”
