The National Wrestling Alliance has announced a major change to the main event for NWA Hard Times 3.
On the September 24 episode of NWA USA, the company announced that NWA World Television Champion Tyrus has cashed in his Lucky 7 option, meaning he has relinquished the title in order to get a shot at the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. The NWA then announced that Tyrus has been added to the main event of Hard Times 3, which was previously scheduled to be a singles match between Trevor Murdoch and Matt Cardona.
Murdoch defeated Tyrus to retain the title at NWA 74. Cardona has had his sights set on a title shot since he returned from the injury that forced him to relinquish the title due to injury at the Alwayz Ready pay-per-view in June. There, Murdoch defeated Nick Aldis, Sam Shaw, and Thom Latimer to win the gold.
