Matt Cardona has some simple goals for his upcoming UK trip.
In an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Cardona previewed his trip overseas; he’s set to face Man Like Dereiss and TNT World Champion Dan Moloney over the next several days.
“I only have a couple of goals when I’m over there – buzz, money and gold! But I’m coming over there with a UK-exclusive Matt Cardona shirt. I wanna sell every single shirt, I wanna win all my matches, I just wanna fly home to the United States with more titles, more buzz and more money! And some chicken from Nando’s!” Cardona said.
Cardona spoke about how hot the UK crowds are for wrestling, noting the reception at WWE’s recent Clash at the Castle premium live event as one example.
“The fans are hungry for wrestling. I’ve been watching all the videos, trying to study my opponents. The crowds seem hot! I always loved going over there with WWE because the fans were always so loud and always so wild,” Cardona said. “I got four shows – TNT, GCW, TNT versus GCW, PROGRESS. I’m excited to go over there – four days of wrestling in the UK,’ he added. ‘I’m excited to go back and just have fun. I feel like the crowd is gonna boo me, but love to boo me, and that’s the best!”
Cardona went on to preview his matches with TNT this weekend and said he’s going to show them what a real superstar looks like.
“Look, they’re talented, I’ve been watching them, I’m a student of the game, I’m always ready. But listen – I’ve been around the block way more times, way longer. They’re fine for the UK but now when I get over them I’m going to show them what a real superstar’s all about.”
