Shawn Michaels recently received another promotion in WWE as his work with the multi-colored brand continues.
According to Brent Brookhouse of CBS Sports, the two-time Hall of Famer has been promoted to WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative.
Shawn Michaels was previously the Vice President of Talent Development Creative as mentioned in an August press release on the creation of NXT Europe last month.
Despite the new promotion, Michaels will continue his creative and talent development duties in NXT 2.0. He will also continue to oversee the expansion of NXT UK to NXT Europe, which is expected to take place at some point in 2023. Michaels has been in charge of the NXT brand since Triple H had his health scare last September.
Michaels recently spoke to Metro about the NXT Europe expansion, noting it was something Triple H has had in mind for quite some time.
“We are in the beginning stages, these are all things we are going to be talking about – but I’ll say this. I really think – I always hate to speak for Hunter, but I always feel like we’re of the same mindset a lot of the time and I think it’s about balance,’ he explained. “Certainly, we’re always going to continue to go out there and recruit young, sports-minded athletes, young men and women that want to help WWE grow and expand. But I just don’t think there’s anyway to ignore the talent – and especially the international talent – that’s out there. I don’t think anything is going to be off the table.
