It sounds like Thunder Rosa hasn’t had things go her way in recent weeks at All Elite Wrestling.
Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite, Thunder Rosa announced that she was injured and would be unable to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship at All Out. It was announced later on in the show that there will be a fatal four-way between Toni Storm, Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida to crown an Interim AEW Women’s World Champion at the pay-per-view.
According to a report from Voices of Wrestling (and verified by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp via Fightful Select), the talk of real-life heat between Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa is an accurate one. The issues between the two women have been occurring for the better part of the last year. However, both women have been professional and continued to work with one another for the betterment of the company. But heat has recently developed with Jamie Hayter over Thunder Rosa reportedly working stiff and breaking her nose at the last Battle of the Belts special.
The speculated injury to Thunder Rosa seems to be tied to bulging discs in her back, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Prior to the injury, the plan was for Toni Storm to win the AEW Women’s World Championship at All Out. With the match being changed, Sapp no longer knows if that is still the case.
Despite speculation to the contrary, Rosa’s injury is legitimate, and it’s not a storyline to take her off AEW programming.
