Deonna Purrazzo is facing a unique contract situation.
Purrazzo, a former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Champion, recently won the Knockouts Tag Team Championship alongside Chelsea Green at the Emergence event on August 12, and her contract will reportedly be up in a few months.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that Purrazzo’s deal is set to expire at the end of 2022, and she is expected to “actively discuss” her future with IMPACT. He cited sources who noted that IMPACT believes they have an option year for 2023, but that’s uncertain. Sapp wrote that after Purrazzo signed with the company after working without a deal, and once she got one, the company added time to her contract, which could include an option year. Either way, he stated that the two sides will likely enter negotiations.
Plus, Sapp reported that Green is a free agent, as she has not signed a contract with IMPACT. Though she regularly appears on IMPACT TV, she continues to compete for NWA, GCW, and other promotions on the independent scene.
Purrazzo signed with IMPACT in 2020 after WWE released her in a cost-cutting move, and she has become one of the company’s top stars. She won the Knockouts World Championship twice, and she also defeated Rok-C to win the ROH Women’s World Championship on the January 13 episode of IMPACT Wrestling. She also won the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
