Things behind-the-scenes at WWE continue to change, with a new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful revealing some producers have been released from the company and detailing the effect it’s had behind closed doors.
The latest report notes that both Joe Hennig and Ariya Daivari — both of whom were released from WWE but later brought back as producers before being released once again — were both “deep within their training process” and had already begun producing Main Event taping matches on their own when they were let go.
The report mentions that Daivari was expected by many to be hired on as a full-time producer, but with the superstar now appearing regularly on-air for both the Ring of Honor and All Elite Wrestling brands, that seems unlikely.
Fightful’s report also mentions that WWE has started “doubling up” on producer assignments, as opposed to their usual operation of just having one producer completing a single assignment on any given show. Several segments that might have had multiple producers on it have also been stripped back to just having one, due in part to both Daivari and Hennig being let go.
The effect of Daivari and Hennig’s release has also been felt in travel, as the report mentions that several producers had been taken off of the road for up to a week in order to limit the cost of them traveling. Jason Jordan, a senior producer with WWE, has also been credited with more television segments as of late, another testimony to the smaller producer pool available at WWE now.
