Drew McIntyre is dealing with some lower back soreness that has caused WWE to pull him from his advertised live events this weekend. Madcap Moss took his place in Salisbury, MD and teamed with The Street Profits to take on Sheamus and The Usos.
ProWrestling.net initially reported that the move is precautionary and is not expected to be anything serious. Fightful Select later confirmed the report. McIntyre is still expected to wrestle at the upcoming Clash at the Castle event in Cardiff, Wales. The event is expected to be the highest attended single day event this year in pro wrestling, even surpassing both nights of WrestleMania.
Surgery is not something being considered at the moment and internal sources indicate that rest should do the trick. McIntyre worked a tag team match on SmackDown this past week which would further indicate its not very serious.
McIntyre is scheduled for a face-to-face confrontation with Roman Reigns next week on SmackDown.
