The tournament for the vacant WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship continued on the August 12 episode of WWE SmackDown, and the second team advanced.
In a first-round bout, Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah battled Shotzi and Xia Li. Natalya and Sonya Deville were at ringside to watch the action to scout their potential opponents for next week. The two teams were evenly matched early on. In an early showcase of their chemistry, Rodriguez used her power to launch Aliyah onto their opponents. Shotzi and Li took control by isolating Shotzi, but she eventually rallied and tagged Rodriguez. The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion cleared house with a flurry of offense.

In the end, Rodriguez dropped Li with a powerbomb and pinned her.
Li and Rodriguez will face the winner of Deville and Natalya vs. Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark.
