Tony D’Angelo and Santos Escobar will face off one last time at WWE NXT Heatwave on August 16, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
On the August 9 episode of WWE NXT 2.0, the two rivals met in their Final Accord. Escobar extended a handshake, and D’Angelo refused. Escobar said that D’Angelo’s goon put him in the hospital, so last week was just payback. He questioned whether “The Don of NXT” had any championship gold, and D’Angelo noted that he didn’t, but he was still the boss. Escobar made it clear that their agreement won’t work. D’Angelo told him that he wanted to come back to work and do his job.
Escobar challenged him to one final match at Heatwave, where if he lost, he’d leave NXT. D’Angelo countered, saying that if Escobar leaves, his crew has to stay behind. Escobar agreed to the terms and stated that if D’Angelo loses, Legado del Fantasma will be free. They made the deal to face off in a Street Fight next week.
The stage is set and the stakes have been raised for one final showdown NEXT WEEK at #NXTHeatwave. #WWENXT @EscobarWWE @TonyDangeloWWE pic.twitter.com/UvmhjgvtI5
