The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) have arrived in All Elite Wrestling, and they are fueled by the power of the scissor.
The two stars continue to rise up the ranks in AEW, and fresh off of their win over The Gunn Club in a Dumpster Match, the duo appeared on Hey! (EW).
There, host RJ City asked them to clear up any confusion about what their signature scissoring taunt means. He thought it showed the peace sign coming together, but Caster set him straight.
“I’m gonna tell you right now, it means one thing, and one thing only – that Max gets it on,” Caster said.
Bowens chimed in by saying, “Actually, scissoring is solely a sign of friendship, and nothing more.”
City then shared his belief that he thought that scissoring represented Bowens and Caster playing a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, where they both played scissors because they’re equals. “Platinum Max” weighed in by describing how they add a sound effect whenever they scissor for authenticity.
“We’re friends but whenever scissor, we have to make a [mimics sound], just to make it realistic,” said Caster.
The Acclaimed proceeded to show off the Cross Scissor, where Bowens locks fingers with two people at the same time, and he reacted as if he had been electrocuted. When asked, he cited the “power of the scissor.”
