AEW Dynamite Results (8/3/22): Chris Jericho vs. Wheeler Yuta, Dumpster Match, Undisputed Elite Return

In-Ring Segment: Ethan Page

Page has a microphone and asks why he’s not on TV every week. Stokely Hathaway comes to the ring while Page says he deserves better. He says that the company is leaving money on the table every week when he’s not on TV. Hathaway asks him what he’s doing, and he says he needs to get paid. Hathaway whispers in his ear and gives him his business card.

Backstage, Anna Jay is standing by with 2point0. “Daddy Magic” says the fact that Jericho will become “Le Champion” again makes his nipples hard. Angelo Parker says the AEW Galaxy should respect JAS because they keep getting better. Anna Jay chokes out a member of the crew.

Dumpster Match: The Gunn Club (with Bully Gunn) vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster)

Caster and Bowens attack the Gunns during their entrance. Caster raps and says they’ll make the “Ass Boys” retire like Vince McMahon. The Gunns slam Bowens with the lid of the dumpster. They put The Acclaimed in the dumpster, but Caster hits them with a cookie sheet. Austin grounds Bowens and does a crotch chop. Both teams brawl around ringside. Austin tries to put Caster in the dumpster, but he blocks it. They battle on top of the dumpster, and Austin slams Bowens onto a trash can. The Gunns slam Caster into the side of a dumpster and get a table. Austin suplexes Caster onto some of the steel grating. Colt drops Bowens with the Colt 45 on the stage. Austin climbs to the top of the entrance tunnel, and Caster sneaks up behind him. He sends Austin flying into the dumpster. Caster jumps off the tunnel and sends Colten through a table with an elbow drop.

Winners: The Acclaimed

Caster and Bowens shove the dumpster, with Austin and Colten locked inside, off the stage.

Winner faces AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley next week: Wheeler Yuta vs. Chris Jericho

Claudio Castagnoli comes to ringside to even the odds. Yuta flicks Jericho’s broken nose and takes control. Jericho leaves the ring and Yuta follows him, slamming Jericho into the barricade. Referee Aubrey Edwards ejects 2point0 from ringside. Jericho tries to go for a school-boy pin, but Jericho has it scouted. “The Wizard” crotches Yuta on the ropes. Jericho continues to control the action and catches Yuta with a dropkick in mid-air.

Yuta rallies and suplex Jericho. The former world champion rolls through and traps Yuta in the Walls of Jericho. Yuta sends Jericho to the outside and dives onto him three times. Jericho hits a Codebreaker out of nowhere for a two count. Yuta rakes Jericho’s nose and locks in a modified Regal Stretch. Jericho kicks Yuta below the belt when the referee isn’t looking. Yuta dodges the Judas Effect and gets a two count with the seatbelt. Jericho locks in the Walls of Jericho and turns it into the Liontamer, forcing Jericho to tap out.

Winner: Chris Jericho

Jericho keeps the hold locked in after the match, but Jon Moxley makes the save. Jericho escapes and tells Moxley that if he wants the “Lionheart”, he’ll get him next week.
