Becky Lynch is reportedly banged up coming out of WWE SummerSlam.
“Big Time Becks” opened the show in the RAW Women’s Championship match against Bianca Belair. During the bout, many fans noticed that Lynch grabbed her shoulder after she took the Glam Slam, and she favored it throughout the bout.
On the August 1 edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that Lynch separated her shoulder, and the exact extent of the injury is unclear.
“Becky Lynch took the Jaded (Glam Slam) and landed sideways, she landed on her side,” said Lynch. “Having separated my shoulder twice wrestling, I knew immediately that was not good. She started grabbing her shoulder and she was grabbing her shoulder throughout the rest of the match. We can confirm today that she did suffer a shoulder separation. I don’t know the extent of it, there are several grades of shoulder separation.” (H/t Ian Carey of the Wrestling Observer)
There are varying degrees of shoulder separation, as the recovery time can range from two to 12 weeks, if not longer.
Update: Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed the news, noting that Lynch worked through “most of the match” with the injury.
