Edge is back.
After several weeks of cryptic vignettes alluding to his reappearance, Edge returned at SummerSlam in fiery fashion to help The Mysterios defeat The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest in a No Disqualification match. The bout saw the use of weapons and interference from Rhea Ripley before Edge came out with a Brood-like entrance. He dropped Priest and Balor with two consecutive Spears, and The Mysterios subsequently scored the win with the 619.

Edge was written out of storylines in June when Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley attacked him to align with Finn Balor, who became the new leader of The Judgment Day. The sudden change in creative direction was reportedly due to creative differences when WWE wanted to take the faction in a supernatural direction.
During his absence, The Mysterios have been feuding with The Judgment Day; the group has been trying to recruit Dominik to the dark side.
