Nick Wayne‘s trip overseas has been sidetracked by a bomb threat.
The teenage wrestling sensation, who frequently competes for Game Changer Wrestling and other promotions, made his PROGRESS Wrestling debut on July 24; he defeated Robbie X at PROGRESS Chapter 136: 24/7, which was held at the Electric Ballroom in London England. His subsequent journey home on didn’t go as planned; according to Air Live, Condor flight DE2032 as a bomb threat was found on the bathroom mirror on the plane. The flight then rerouted its intended course and landed in Keflavik, Iceland.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez offered more information about the situation.
“Somebody apparently went into the bathroom and wrote either ‘bomb’ or ‘explosion’ on the mirror in the bathroom,” said Alvarez. “They turned around, they landed in Iceland, they took everybody off the plane, they herded them into some secure area.”
“Apparently [Nick’s] mother was interrogated for quite a while because she had an eyeliner or something of that nature and obviously [the threat] had been scrawled in eyeliner or makeup on the bathroom mirror. So, she was in a panic.” (H/T Ian Carey of F4WOnline)
Alvarez also noted that, due to the threat, passengers aren’t allowed to do anything with their electronics, so their phones will likely run out of battery. For this reason, more information likely won’t be available until Wayne returns home.
Per Air Live, 266 passengers have been placed in an area that is being guarded by the place. It’s currently unclear whether they are being detained.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
