If you’re employed at All Elite Wrestling, Tony Khan is your boss first, but he’s also hoping that you have a fun time while you’re at work.
Tony Khan recently sat down with Steve Fall of NBC Sports Boston to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about his relationship with the people he employs in All Elite Wrestling, Khan said he tries to be friendly and wants to make sure that AEW is a fun place to work.
“I think in most cases I am a boss and try to be a friend in I guess in every case if you work for AEW, I’m a boss, but if it’s somebody I’ve gotten to spend time with, I try to at least be very friendly and make it a fun place to work,” Tony Khan said. “And there are a lot of people I have different relationships with. Some people are older, and I can learn a lot from them, and a lot of the young wrestlers I do try to give advice to and give them ideas and things they can use on TV on Wednesday night Dynamite, on TBS, or on Friday night Rampage, on TNT and hopefully things that they can use to develop their skills and also to make them more interesting to the wrestling fans who watch the shows.”
When asked about how he approaches storyline pitches from certain talents on the All Elite Wrestling roster, Khan said it depended on a large amount of variables.
“It depends on what it is,” Tony Khan admitted. “It depends on who the wrestlers are and what the match is we’re trying to get to is and how we’re gonna get there and how long we have to get from point A to point B. Is there a point C or a point D? There’s a lot of questions, and every story is different. At least you hope to try to make every story different and add value to the shows.”
