Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. is a fan of Paige, and she believes the former WWE star could be a good fit in All Elite Wrestling.
Paige left WWE on July 7; she had been with the company since 2011. Throughout her time with the promotion, she became one of the top stars in the women’s division. She was the inaugural NXT Women’s Champion, and she won the Diva’s Championship on her first night on the main roster. Health issues derailed the last few years of her WWE run, as she was forced to retire from the ring in 2018.
In an interview with Sportskeeda, Baker was asked about Paige potentially coming to AEW. In response, the former AEW Women’s World Champion made it clear that “The Anti-Diva” is her dream opponent.
“I think AEW could be the right place for anybody, really, because we have such a good platform, we have such good coaches, we have the best fans in the world,” said Baker. “I’m a huge fan of Paige. I love her, I love her mom. I’ve wrestled her mom before, actually. But she’s such an inspirational female. That girl has gone through it all, but she’s still, pardon my swearing, but she’s such a bad bitch and she has such that ‘let everything roll off your back’ energy. You can’t get to her. You know what I’m saying? She holds her head high.”
Baker also noted that if Paige does return to the ring, she at least wants to be ringside so she can watch it happen.
“Her in a wrestling ring again, if I’m not in that match, I want to be ringside watching because she was one of my favorites to watch,” said Baker. “Her energy, when she would come out and do the sideways skip down the ramp, it made me so excited. I used to play her entrance music in my car, so I’m a big Paige fan.”
Paige then responded to Sportskeeda’s Riju Dasgupta, who noted that he’d like to see a match between “The Role Model” and the former WWE star. She stated, “Sign me up.”
